Bob Missel, Owner
Bob Missel is the owner of Sampter’s and grandson of the store’s founder, Gerald Sampter, who founded the store in 1925. In 1983 Bob began working at Sampter’s, learning the business from his grandfather. Two years later, in 1985, he took the store over.
Bob values and respects each one of his customers. At Sampter’s it’s all about relationships; Bob and his team know their customers by name and are truly interested in helping them make the best selection. With over 30 years’ experience in the business, when it comes to getting a great fitting, properly tailored suit, he’s your guy. Bob’s favorite shirt they sell is the Enro dress shirt; the fit, style, and fabric all exceed expectations making it the best dress shirt in the market today in his eyes.
Bob is passionate about the business and can be found in his office, on the sales floor, and even hemming a pant leg if needed. In addition to running Sampter’s he also serves as Dodge County Supervisor and is an active on many local boards. He enjoys golf and is an avid collector of US coins and currency.
Lynn Frese, Tailor
Lynn is Sampter’s in-house tailor and a graduate of the Hart Schaffner & Marx School of Tailoring in Chicago, Illinois. She has been providing exceptional service at Sampter’s for over 40 years. Her tailoring apprenticeship began in 1973 under head tailor Elfrieda Keith was hired by Sampter’s founder, Gerald Sampter. Lynn loves working at Sampter’s and credits that to her two great bosses, first Gerald and now Bob.
Lynn loves to sew and has had experience doing so her entire life; starting in high school home economics class, then 10 years with 4-H, and her career as a tailor.
Holly Goldsberry, Accounts Manager
Holly has been a member of Sampter’s team for 26 years. As bookkeeper she keeps the store running smoothly. While her expertise is the numbers, she also enjoys the times she is on the sales floor and helping customers. Holly knows that great service is what has kept customers coming back to Sampter’s for over 90 years. Her favorite brands are Tribal and Charlie B for their fit and great style.
In her spare time, Holly loves working in the garden at home and also enjoys volunteering at the May Museum garden.
Rod began working at Sampter’s in 2001. He’s a natural when it comes to customer service and putting together the perfect look for his customers. He enjoys making them feel and look good. His favorite clothing lines in the store are the Chaps Sports Collection and Savane Khaki slacks.
Art is something that has always interested Rod. He loves to draw – especially pen and ink drawings.
Loretta has been offering exceptional customer service as a sales associate at Sampter’s for over 5 years. She enjoys greeting each customer and understanding their needs. Loretta listens to the customer and enjoys offering one-on-one help, or letting a customer browse depending on what they want. She is friendly and genuine with everyone she meets.
Sampter’s offers a variety of wonderful brands that meet the varying needs of each customer. Her favorite in the ladies department is Tribal because of the great quality and style that makes each piece a wardrobe staple. Loretta takes pride in her job and enjoys working with her fellow team members.
Jan is new to the Sampter’s sales team starting in May 2017. Her outgoing personality makes her a natural sales associate. She enjoys working with her fellow colleagues and helping customers find that “special” dress or shirt they’re looking for. Jan aims to meet each customer’s needs ensuring they leave with a smile. Her personal favorite brands in the store are Tribal and Jag.
When she’s not working, Jan enjoys reading and taking care of Timmy the puppy…and of course her husband Rod, too. Together they love to travel in their free time.
Kendra joined Sampter’s team in early 2016. She greets every customer with a smile and a helping hand. Kendra prides herself on offering quality customer service and is on the lookout for finding ways to improve. Her eye for color and prints helps customers who are interested in trying something new. Kendra’s favorite lines in the store are Tasc, Tribal and Jag.
Maria has been a sales associate since November 2015. Providing quality customer service is a priority and her motto is that you’re always in “buenos manos” (good hands). Fluent in English and Spanish, Maria brings her passion for service and excitement for meeting new people to work each day. Her favorite brands in the store are Levi’s, Tasc, and Chaps because they offer high quality at a great value.
Maria has a passion for learning, specifically language learning, and making time for new experiences. In the winter she enjoys skiing.
Kelly started working at Sampter’s in January 2017. She brings an upbeat energy with a desire to get to know each customer. She makes an effort to understand the customer’s needs and makes suggestions to meet those needs. She is always ready to answer any questions they have and will find the answer if she doesn’t know it. Kelly has many favorite apparel lines at Sampter’s with her favorites being Tasc and Pure. She also often suggests Tribal, Karen Hart, Tommy Bahama, and Mission Belts (as seen on Shark Tank!).
When Kelly isn’t at the store her family is her world. She enjoys every minute she gets to spend with her 4 daughters, who stay very busy these days, and her husband. She also enjoys planting and harvesting vegetables, reading, and spending time with her “fur babies”.
